Handpoke tattoos are created without a machine. Using only a tattoo needle, I manually build each design dot by dot; without the use of an electric tattoo machine, entirely by hand. Instead of continuous vibration, the ink is gently placed into the skin. This traditional technique is one of the oldest forms of tattooing and offers a calm, intentional approach to creating body art.
Because the process is done manually, handpoke tattoos often have a softer, more organic appearance once healed. Apart from the designs that can be found in my flash book, handpoke is also fit for creating small symbols, lettering, and details. The result is subtle yet lasting — a handpoke tattoo, when done well, will last just as long as a tattoo that has been done with an electric machine.
Many clients describe the experience as being more quiet, therefore more relaxed compared to machine tattooing. Without the buzzing sound and constant vibration, the session offers space for relaxation and conversation when desired.
Every handpoke tattoo is done with precision, patience, and strict hygiene standards. I use professional-grade needles and high-quality ink to ensure safety, clarity, and longevity.
In my experience, a lot of my clients tell me that getting a handpoke tattoo is far less painful than getting an electric machine tattoo. However, this experience ofcourse differs for every individual.
The proces of getting a handpoke tattoo is overal longer, since I place the dots individually. I do, however, often get a look of surprise for how fast I work.
Whether you are choosing to get your first tattoo or adding a piece to your collection, handpoke offers a timeless and intentional way to wear your story on your skin without getting too overstimulated during the session.
